A cash register is fine for processing simple sales that require the exchange of cash and a receipt. Beyond that, a cash register is extremely limited in its capabilities:

  • A cash register cannot handle more complex transactions like customer deposits, deliveries, or layaway.
  • A cash register cannot keep statistics of items sold so that you can view your best selling products later.
  • A cash register cannot store customer information (name, email addresses, birthdays) so you can improve relationships with your store visitors.
  • A cash register cannot help you make decisions about what inventory to buy.
  • A cash register cannot help you manage your employees.

Yes. You can access real-time information for all of your stores at any time, from anywhere. The servers are located at our offices in Florida so you do not need one at your store. And you won’t have to worry about backups or service contracts. We take care of that stuff.
Yes. Smartwerks will work in a single store or multi-store environment. The software is designed to provide information that will enable you to analyze performance on a company-wide or individual store basis.
Yes. If you have internet access on your tablet or smartphone you can use Smartwerks Easy Sales to process carryout sales and deliveries. Additionally, with Easy Sales you can create price quotes, look up sales transactions, and view/edit the customer directory. Back office processing is performed on a laptop or desktop computer.
You can have as many devices as you need at a single location. There is an additional fee for each device.
The back office can be accessed anywhere you have an internet connection and a Windows computer.
Yes. Our simple Work Order app lets you track repair items. You can use your webcam (or a connected phone) to take high-quality before, during, and after photos of the item being serviced. Attach notes or other comments to these photos and print them out for the customer to give them full confidence in the completed job. The Work Order app can also track serial numbers for serviced items.
Yes. Smartwerks Time Clock app is a simple screen that your employees use to clock in and clock out. The corresponding Time Clock report is used to track hours over a specified date range.
If you are using another software package, you can export the inventory information to an Excel spreadsheet, which will then be used to import your inventory into Smartwerks. If your current system doesn’t let you do this, or you are working with a manual system, Smartwerks will provide a spreadsheet template and guide you through the process of entering the appropriate information.
Smartwerks Point of Sale is easy to use and learn. But if you run into any issues, we offer both online and onsite training to meet your individual requirements. We understand that our success depends on your success.
We are always making Smartwerks better. Updates are released quarterly or more frequently, depending upon our customers’ needs. The cost is included in our monthly subscription fee.
That depends on you. Smartwerks is a toolset that is designed to provide you timely and accurate information about the crucial elements of your business.
