Creating a Delayed Delivery Sales Order.

Bike Shop Point of Sale
Here’s the scenario: A customer comes into your Bike Shop to purchase some items that he will be picking up or it will be delivered to him after his order is completed at a later time.
So let’s do a Delayed Delivery Point of Sale transaction together.
On the Main Menu under Sales, click Sales Orders. If you know the customer number, enter it in the Customer ID field.
If you’re not sure of the number, click the icon to the right of the field to search for it or to create a new customer.
The customer information appears.
In the Transaction Type field on the right side of the screen, select “Delivery”, since the merchandise will be delivered to the customer. The other option in this field is Take With, which is used when the customer is taking the merchandise with them.
Now we need to specify the delivery date for the merchandise.
Now let’s look at the Ship To information for this order.
By default, the Ship to information is the same as the Bill To information. To change it, simply type the new information in the appropriate fields. If you want to use the address of a customer already on file or view addresses that the customer has previously shipped to, click the search button to the right of the address field.
Customers matching the search criteria appear.
Smartwerks automatically keeps a history of the Ship To addresses that are used by a customer. If you want view these addresses, enter the Bill To customer number in the Customer ID field and click Search.
In the name column, you will see the Bill To customer. In the columns to the right you will see the addresses where merchandise was previously shipped.
Let’s use one of these as the Ship To address for this order.
Before we add merchandise to the transaction, let’s look at the Map feature.
When you click the Map button, the Google Maps webpage automatically opens in your default browser.
Now it’s time to add merchandise to the order. To begin, click inside the Item # field and then scan the barcode. If you are not using a barcode scanner, type the item number in the field.
If you don’t know the item number, you can look it up by clicking the search button.
The description, brand, quantity available, pricing information, and image for the item now appear. Verify that the quantity being purchased is correct and click OK.
Note that most barcode scanners can be programmed to put the items directly into the Item Table after being scanned. In that case, you would not need to click OK button.
The item appears in the Item Table.
Now let’s add one more item to the ticket, using the steps just described.
Both items now appear in the item table. You can modify either one by clicking on it.
When all items have been added to the ticket, click Checkout to enter the Payment information.
If you want to make the current Ship To address the default Ship To address, click yes at this prompt. Since this customer does not use this ship to address very often, we will answer no.
Select the payment type at the bottom of the screen.
Enter the required information for the payment type, including the amount being paid. Then click Apply.
The payment appears in the table on the right side of the window. When all payments have been entered, you can preview the invoice by clicking the Preview button.
When you are finished entering payment information, click OK to print the invoice and complete the order.
Now we need to ship the item to the customer.
In the Invoice number field, enter the invoice number of the transaction.
The order appears. Verify that the information is correct.
Next, Click Quick Ship at the top of the screen.
Specify which items are being shipped. In this example, we will ship both items on the order. Decide whether you want to print the invoice…and click OK.
Finally, specify the invoice printer and click OK.
The status of the order is now “Delivered Closed” Notice that the new invoice shows the lines that were Quick Shipped.
